i) Bank is having total 84 currency chests of which 82 currency chests situated in Gujarat and 2 currency chests at outside Gujarat. These branches are handling currency management covering issuance of clean notes/acceptance of soiled/mitulated notes, distribution and acceptance of coins from the customer/General Public.
ii) Our 77 branches in Gujarat handling State Government work i.e. receipt of sales tax/professional tax other dues etc. Our 7 Link branches in Saurashtra are also working as link branches for our other branches and other bank branches.
iii) Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) work : In our Bank, there are total 117 branches are authorized for collection of Direct Taxes. Out of 117 branches, 107 branches are situated in Gujarat and 10 branches outside Gujarat. All the taxpayers are required to quoting permanent PAN/TAN numbers on the challans compulsory as per Govt./RBI guidelines. The procedure for obtaining PAN/TAN is available in the website of Income Tax Deptt.(hhtp://www.incometax India.gov.in or hhtp://www.nsdl.com). w.e.f. 01/04/2005, the Fund settlement on-line with Govt. Deptt will be on the same day of receipts of challans which will help in crediting the tax amount on the same day to the taxpayer's account. We are also giving regularly quarterly press advertisement in the leading newspapers for accepting CBDT-Direct Tax Collection in our branches.
iv) Our Bank is authorized for collection of Central Excise, Custom Revenues (CBEC) and Service Tax attached with Rajkot and Bhavnagar commissionorate in Saurashtra and Kutch area. The Focal point branch for Rajkot Commission orate branches is out Gymkhana Road, Rajkot branch and newly designated Focal Point branch Darbargadh, Bhavnagar for Bhavnagar Commission orate branches will start functioning from 01.04.2005.
v) Defence Collection / Payment work at 7 link branches in Saurashtra.
vi) Collection/payment work of Western Railway in Saurashtra and Kutch, our 20 branches are authorized for
vii) PRT Collection payment work at 75 branches in Saurashtra
viii) Pension Payment of Central and State Govt. Pensioners, i.e. Defence, Railway, Central Civil, State Govt., Telecom etc. In case of Central Civil Pensions as per Govt. guidelines, we have introduced single window system in our branches Central Civil Pensions.
